Transferring Domain Names

The following conditions must be satisfied before transferring domain name:

  • The domain name must be 60 days or older.
  • The domain name cannot have been transferred within the last 60 days.
  • The domain name must be unlocked at the current registrar.
  • The Whois Privacy must be disabled.

If the above conditions are satisfied, the following steps must be taken to transfer a domain name:

  • Get the domain name’s authorization/EPP code from the current registrar.
  • Once the authorization/EPP code has been applied by the party that the domain name is being transferred to, an approval email will be sent to the administrative email address on the domain. This email will contain a link where you can click the approval and submit the transfer.
  • The domain name must be unlocked at the current registrar.
  • After the transfer request is submitted, the transfer will take 5 to 7 days to complete.
